About

Founded in 1988, RIO Tronics is committed to the design and manufacturing of energy meter interfacing devices, which enable reliable counting data.

Hundreds of thousands of its devices have been installed, including at hundreds of AMR/AMI projects of investor owned and municipal utilities including ConEd in New York, SoCal Gas California, Nicor Gas in Illinois; for commercial and apartment buildings, offices, and at  military bases across the USA including US Naval, Army, and National Guard bases.

RIO Tronics produces sustainable and recyclable products. This commitment is underscored by participation in conferences of the International Symposium on Sustainable Systems and Technology (ISSST), International Society for Industrial Ecology – ISIE, and Life Cycle Analysis- LCA; and publication in research periodicals including Integrated Environmental Assessment and Management-April, 2013.

As one of the original companies collaborating to set metering standards for the Automatic Meter Reading Association, it has played a role in the continual progress of remote metering from telephone based one way communications to two way fixed network and mesh AMI.

Close cooperation with AMR/AMI and submetering companies has resulted in reliable and easy to install pulse device products for gas, water, and electric meters. Using best in class components from international sources, final test and assembly are completed in USA.

The company is privately held and based in Centennial, CO.
